'The Idiot' Shiraz, Philip Shaw 2022 Sub-region_Ribeira Sacra The imposing 18th Century ChateauPhilip Shaw is one of Australia's most talented winemakers, making wines in cooler climate style at his estate in Orange in New South Wales. Grapes for his Shiraz are grown at 900m altitude at his 47 hectare Koomooloo vineyard, resulting in a fresh, refined expression of this grape variety. This is gently scented with soft, dark berry fruit and an earthy, peppery finish, much closer to a Northern Rhone Syrah than a more typically Australian Shiraz
